Eko violin bass
Pure Class
Wooooah! How can you not love this bass!
Just in is this near mint near stock Eko Bass and it’s a peach!
Full scale length, good trusty simple electrics, killer sounding Italian single coils and amazing Continental style. Oh, and did I mention the back - gorgeous!
These basses are often passed over as the poor relation of their famous German cousin, but that’s just not fair. Eko were an amazingly inventive company on the 60s, building some of the most outrageous guitars ever produced including the Phantoms and Teardrops for Vox.
So the story goes that an old friend of Macaris, Roberto Brandoni, bought most of Eko’s stock when they eventually closed up shop in the late 60s. Once he had sold the complete guitars he started building instruments from the original parts in his workshop in London. We think this is one of Roberto’s.
Why we hear you ask.
Well, firstly because of its condition but mainly because of how well it plays. Roberto was fender main UK man in the 60s doing set-ups and repairs for the World’s most famous guitar company – you expect his products to play well.
In conclusion, this is a really fine example of a really cool bass – think that sums it up!
