So, a month or so ago we were lucky enough to acquire a few auction lots at Bonhams New Bond Street.
It was of course the auction which featured most of the guitar gear that belonged to the great Rory Gallagher – a long-time customer and great friend of Macaris.
We were thrilled to end up with no less than eight of his pedals, five of which were Colorsound pedals originally from Macaris (those of course we’re keeping in the collection) plus three others which we’ve decided to list for sale here.
We have tested them and will supply them with the original Bonhams Auction tag plus a letter from Macaris confirming the pedal is the one we bought at the auction – as well as that we will add a hologram inside the battery compartment and keep a record of the number at Macaris HQ so these can never be replicated / faked.
This one is an early 80s Tokai Metaldriver made in Japan. To be honest I’d forgotten all about this pedal, even though we used to sell them back in the day. It’s not what you expect – it’s not a thrashy shreddy number, much more of a blues rock machine – surprisingly fat. Nice to get a surprise like that now and again! Condition is excellent and it comes in its original box.
So a very cool pedal that once belonged to one of the nicest guys and greatest players in the rock and roll business.
