Ohhh yes- a minty clean goldtop from 2016 – a great year to buy a standard from .

Why? what’s so good about 2016 Ant ?

Well, we we’re the main Gibson dealers for London at this point so we remember the period distinctly .

Gibson were still licking their wounds after  the launch of the worst received Les Paul standard ever the year before  – part of the range in 2015 with wide fingerboards , metal nuts , robotic tuners and a crazy logo .

They HAD to bounce back so they made a totally traditional looking Les Paul with some really usable modern features . The locking heads were subtle and didn’t look at all out of place , the coil taps and pahse switching is hidden in there push/pull pots and instantly bypassable with a pull of a forth . The weight relief is a welcome feature and seems to actually enhance the tone . In short – this is a superb Les Paul.

This one , being a goldtop , could be mistaken for a ’57 – basically it balances vintage goodness with some amazing contemporary
