1991 Rickenbacker 360/12 - minty

1991

A new 360/12 is pushing £5K now wow !

But here's a totally amazing limited run version at a fraction of the price  . . . . point 653 to be precise !

Somehow this guitar has made it through its 34 years of life without picking up a single scratch and it plays as well if not better than any Rikki 12 I've ever encountered ( bear in mind we were the Rikki West End dealers for many years )

Rickenbacker made this finish as a limited run in the late 80s/early 90s - they featured a White nitro lacquer finish and were also notable for the BT designation which stands for “Black Trim.” They were very similar to the Tuxedo models but with the standard Rickenbacker fingerboard ( even better IMHO )

They all looked great but the 360/12 was the pick of the models - an instant classic .

Tonally, there’s nothing that can match the iconic jangle, chime, and shimmer of the Rickenbacker 12 string design, and there’s plenty of warmth and sonic variety available between the two original Hi-Gain pickups.

Despite the Hi-Gain moniker, these pickups are actually very conservatively wound with modest output that keeps the top end snap and sparkle of the Rickenbacker sound very present in the mix.

The guitar has a vibrant and clear acoustic voice. The Rickenbacker 12-string guitar has always been a steadfast factor for any 60’s Rock Music Fans as every band had someone playing one ie George Harrison, Tom Petty & Pete Townsend to name a few.

The guitar is in beautiful original condition apart from the , par for the course , replacement tailpiece ( many of the originals snapped due to the 12 string tension ) . The R is now replaced with a rather tasteful lyre - the old one is in the case and waiting to be put in a frame in your studio !

If you are looking for a 360/12 , Id say you be hard pushed to find another quite as good as this

If you're thinking of buying this guitar but can't get down to Haywards heath , feel free to email me at info@macaris.co.uk and request a short phone video showing you details of how the guitar looks and sounds - it's no problem .
